The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the team’s GOALS Foundation made the holiday a little bit brighter for those in need, providing more than 130 meals to local organizations and their beneficiaries on Christmas Eve.
The meals, featuring baked ham, roasted potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, roasted vegetables, salad and apple pie, were prepared by team chef Stephen Schappert and provided to the Keystone Mission and Domestic Violence Service Center.
The meals were paid for by donations to the GOALS Foundation from friends of the team, as well as members of the Toyota SportsPlex’s Adult Hockey Leagues.
