The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Josh Archibald from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
Archibald, 24, re-joins the Penguins after scoring twice in three AHL games last week. Those tallies ran his season totals to 16 goals and 29 points in 60 AHL contests.
Archibald currently ranks tied for first in the AHL with four shorthanded goals, and his plus-26 leads all forwards, and is tied for third in the league.
In earlier stints with Pittsburgh this season, Archibald has scored twice in three games. Both goals came on February 11 in Arizona, with his second goal coming shorthanded.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s next game is Friday, Mar. 24 at Onondaga County War Memorial Arena against the Syracuse Crunch. Puck drop between the Penguins and Crunch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Penguins’ next home showing is on Sunday, Mar. 26 when they take on the Utica Comets for a 3:00 p.m. Sunday matinée and Kids Get In Free game.
