The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are dedicated to improving Northeastern Pennsylvania, which has supported us so well over the years, through our leadership of and assistance with various community events and programs. The Penguins focus their efforts on programs that assist in the development and positive growth of children, using the sport of hockey as the means to touch the lives of others. Specific community activities include player appearances, youth clinics, hospital visits, holiday volunteering, educational assemblies and seminars, and donations of autographed and promotional items to charitable organizations. With support from the entire Penguins organization, we strive to make our community a better place to live & play.

Penguins School Assembly Program
Focusing on students in Grades Three through Eight, the theme for the Penguins School Assembly Program is TEAMWORK. Current members of the WBS Penguins along with “The Voice of the Penguins”, Scott Stuccio, and Penguins mascot – TUX, visit area schools to educate students on using teamwork to achieve goals in school, sports and at home. Scott Stuccioalso talks with students about being safe when playing sports and the sport of hockey in general. The program culminates with interactive games designed to get the students and teachers more involved. For more information on booking a Penguins School Assembly for the 2008-09 school year, send formal requests to Scott Stuccio at 670 North River Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705
