PENGUINS ASSIGN HARTZELL TO WHEELING

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – It was announced today that the Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned goaltender Eric Hartzell from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.    Hartzell, 23, originally signed with Pittsburgh in April after completing four seasons with Quinnipiac University. He was assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sept. 20 and appeared in three preseason games for the Penguins.   The 6-foot-4, 187-pound netminder was named USA Hockey College… read more

PENGUINS EDGED BY ADMIRALS

SENATORS HAND PENGUINS FIRST LOSS OF SEASON

MEGNA RECALLED BY PITTSBURGH

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Jayson Megna from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Megna, 23, will be looking to make his NHL debut tomorrow night against the New York Islanders. GIBBONS OFF TO HOT START
